Dominant colours
The main colours of your image are extracted automatically.
Exportable palette
Click a colour to save it to your palette, then copy the palette in one click.
Large images are resized to 1,600 pixels. Transparent areas are composited onto white.
Pick a colour from your image
Upload a photo, screenshot or logo, then click the area you are interested in. On a phone, tap the image. The selected colour appears with its codes, ready to copy into your website or design software. Add several shades to your palette to compare them. You can also choose from the automatically suggested dominant colours: they are a starting point rather than a replacement for your visual judgement.
Which code should you use: HEX, RGB or HSL?
All three formats describe the same colour in different ways. HEX is a compact notation starting with a hash, such as #FFD8BA. RGB gives the amounts of red, green and blue. HSL describes hue, saturation and lightness. Choose the format your tool accepts: a website colour field often asks for HEX. Copying a different format does not change the colour itself, but your software needs to understand that format.
Why might the colour differ from the original?
A photo contains shadows, reflections and small variations, so nearby points can return different codes. Compressed images, especially JPG files, can contain several shades around what looks like a flat colour. This tool reduces large images to 1,600 pixels and displays transparent areas on white. The result corresponds to that prepared image. For an exact brand colour, use the source file or the code in your visual guidelines.
